About Me

By nature, I am a team player who enjoys interacting and collaborating with other people. In 2012, I decided to study Software Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Hagenberg — alongside my job at the time as a Physical Design Engineer at Intel and my two young daughters. During the 3rd semester I transitioned into the software engineering industry and worked as a Software Developer at Smarter Ecommerce GmbH until March 2016. This triple burden represented the most challenging period of my life so far. I am nonetheless glad to have made the decision to study while working, and proud of myself for successfully navigating that time.

At Smarter Ecommerce I learned many essential things that perfectly complemented my studies, above all how to write code that is robust and as regression-safe as possible. I was fortunate enough to have two outstanding mentors there, from whom I was able to learn a great deal about TDD/BDD.

Since April 2016 I have been employed as a Software Developer at Dynatrace. I started as a WebUI Developer, then took on responsibility for part of Dynatrace's public API. At the end of 2018 I wanted to grow further and moved into pure backend development, where key aspects of my work were fundamentally improving the query performance of our backends and ensuring that our data can be read from Cassandra with high efficiency. Here too I was again involved in developing part of Dynatrace's public REST API, which allows access to the Dynatrace monitoring model.

Currently I hold the role of Senior Developer and Product Owner, responsible for the further development and maintenance of a Component Library and an App built in React and TypeScript. Clean software design, the constant pursuit of high quality — above all through the ongoing improvement of high-quality test coverage — onboarding new team members, and pair programming are likewise part of my daily work.
